Established in 2022, Hadley’s Blessing, a 501(c)(3) foundation, is dedicated to empowering individuals affected by diabetes through education, support, and advocacy. We strive to enhance the quality of life for those living with diabetes by fostering a community that promotes awareness, access to resources, and innovative approaches to prevention and management. With a commitment to collaboration and research, we aim to inspire hope and drive positive change in the fight against diabetes, ultimately working towards a future free from its burdens.

On April 15, 2019, Hadley, at 2 ½ years old, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D), and her journey began. Managing T1D in a toddler can present unique challenges due to their age and developmental stage. Understanding blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, meal plans, and recognizing signs of hypo- and hyperglycemia quickly became the new reality for Hadley and our family. Through the pricks, sticks, and fluctuating blood sugar levels, Hadley has persevered. Her story is not an uncommon one for those affected by T1D.

Our foundation aims to chronicle Hadley’s journey and share her story and its impact on our community and those affected by type 1 diabetes. The annual Summit Shootout Golf Tournament hosted by Summit VT Solutions raises money to support our foundations mission. Hadley’s Blessing is proud to support Breakthrough T1D (formally the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Walk to create a world without T1D. We support Camp Charm City, a diabetes day camp sponsored by Johns Hopkins Hospital for children ages 5-12 in the Greater Baltimore area. Our support extends also to Camp Possibilities, an overnight camp in Darlington, Maryland for children with type 1 diabetes between the ages of 8 and 17 who, due to the complexity of diabetes management, often do not get the chance to go to an overnight summer camp. Lastly, we support the Matthew Hoppe Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship honors the legacy of Matthew Hoppe by awarding scholarships to deserving students impacted by T1D who exemplify his values.

Hadley's Blessing stands as a beacon of hope and support for individuals and families navigating the complexities of diabetes. Through our unwavering commitment to education, advocacy, and community-building, we are not only empowering those affected by type 1 diabetes but also driving forward the collective effort to combat this challenging condition. Hadley's journey serves as a testament to resilience and courage, inspiring us all to persevere in the face of adversity. As we continue to share her story and work tirelessly towards a future free from the burdens of diabetes, let us unite in our determination to make a meaningful difference in the lives of countless individuals. Together, we can transform challenges into opportunities and pave the way for a brighter, healthier tomorrow.
