About the Matthew Hoppe Memorial Scholarship
Hadley’s Blessing is proud to announce the Matthew Hoppe Memorial Scholarship, honoring the life and legacy of Matthew C. Hoppe — a devoted husband, father, artist, athlete, and friend whose passion for creativity and love for others left an unforgettable mark on everyone he met.
Matt lived life with purpose, laughter, and imagination — from his standout lacrosse career at McDaniel College to his award-winning work in 3D design. He inspired those around him to dream big, embrace adventure, and lead with kindness.
This scholarship continues Matt’s legacy by supporting students impacted by Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) who demonstrate resilience, creativity, and a drive to make a difference. It celebrates not only academic promise but also the spirit of perseverance that Matt embodied — the same courage seen in Hadley’s own journey with T1D.
Through the generosity of Hadley’s Blessing, this scholarship empowers the next generation to live boldly, give freely, and turn challenges into opportunities — just as Matt did every day.
The Mission Behind the Scholarship
The scholarship is made possible through Hadley’s Blessing, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and families affected by Type 1 Diabetes.

Inspired by Hadley’s own experience with T1D, Hadley’s Blessing offers resources, support, advocacy, and opportunities for families dealing with the disease. Through outreach, fundraising, and scholarships, the foundation reminds families they are not alone.
